Tell us about yourself.

I wasborn in Finland, stilllivein Finland, and willprobablystayin Finlandforever.I grew up in a lake district, so lakes will always be closest to my heart—even thoughI’llhappily admit that the sea and theFinnisharchipelago areabsolutely stunning.

What is your professional background?

I have aMaster of Science in Engineeringwith a focusonPolymer Chemistry. Ibeganmy careerinR&D andspent15 yearsdevelopingbinders for nonwovens. Ialso worked asa global business developer, identifyingnew opportunitiesin nonwovensfor textile chemicals. After that,Ileftlargemultinational companiestowork fora smaller company, where I becamethe business director of itsnonwovensdivision. I havenowbeenwith鶹ֱapp for 12years.Mycurrentrole isSales Manager, Nordic, and I also haveresponsibility forkey globalcustomers.

Why did you choose to work at 鶹ֱapp?

IhaveStefan Mohrto thank for thatgreatchoice,as heconvinced me to take onwhat,to me,feltlikeachallenge, moving fromdevelopment tosales.鶹ֱapp waslooking for someone in the Nordics who spoke the local languages and knew nonwovens. The funnypart is that the companyinitiallyhad in mindnotto choose aFinnishperson-Finns areknown for being a bit quiet, I guess. But they still decided to hire me — typical Finn or not;I’lllet others decide.Finnsdon’tbrag, soI’lljust quietly appreciate it.

How many languages do you speak?

My mother tongue is Swedish, and of course,IspeakFinnish.I speak Englishas well, and Itrytospeaksome German. Thanks to mylovelycolleagues, I even get to practice a bit of the Bavarian dialect – they are so patient with me!

Are there any important mentorsin your life?

I really appreciated the timeIparticipatedinthe 鶹ֱapp EmergingLeadersprogram in Denver. We had many opportunities to interact with management, and it wasa great experience. One of the coaching sessionswas a true“Lollipopmoment”-when someone says somethingto you thatfundamentallymakes yourlife better, without that person realizing thehuge impactit had on you.I wouldencouragepeople tothink of such a momentandthengo tell that person.

Could you sharesome advice forwomen?

Idon’tremember where I read it,but weshouldstop apologizing and startthanking.I’venoticed many times that women tend to apologize for so much. They say things like “I’m sorry I didthis” or “Sorry I’m like that.”Therefore,if someoneassistsyou, don’tsay, “I’m sorry you have to help me so much.” Instead, say, “Thank you for doing me a favor.”

Have you had meaningful training at 鶹ֱapp?

The besttrainingever was Negotiation Skills with Tim Birdsall.I learnedthe principle of reciprocity, you know-give something, get something,andfosterawin-winmindset.If someone thanks you for doing something, respond with:“Thank you.I’msure you would have done the same for me.”It plants the seed for reciprocityand,in negotiations, gives you the opportunity to ask for something in return.

(Truestory: Iusedthis with a customer after helping themwith an emergency. When I said, “I’m sure you would have done the same for me,”hesimply answered, “No.”I still smile when I think about it.)

Do you have any favoritememoriesofworking here or about your colleagues?

Oh, so many.I especially value the sales meetings when we all come together as a larger group. We have had manymemorable meetings. I am most grateful that themeeting in Finland wasso well received.People thought thefish was fantastic: freshly caught from the sea andpreparedover a fire. We hada great time.

What is the best adviceyou would give to your younger self?

Believemore inyourself.

What do you like to do in your spare time?

I love being outdoors—nature is where I feel at ease. If money or time were noobstacle, I would spend the entire winterskiingin the Alps!

Whatis your favorite food orcuisine?

Myhusband'scooking.Icannot complain.

Any funfactabout you that may surprise people?

Well, when I was young, Icompetedinbodybuilding. For me, itwasnever about flexing on astage. It’smore about seeing how far I can push myselfphysically and mentally.Honestly, after surviving those workouts, anything that lands on my desk feels very manageable.

Finally, what do you enjoy most about working with your colleagues?

I’verealized that the things you rememberand valuein life are people and experiences. That’swhy I appreciate 鶹ֱapp's emphasis on people—putting people first and creating the 鶹ֱapp experience. It truly aligns with my own values. And, of course, having colleagues who share the same valuesmakes all the difference.
